1. Opening: The Logic Even a Child Understands
There is a simple and universal truth that even a child can understand: the person who asks for protection is not the one who created the danger. A child knows that the one who cries out for help is not the one who caused the harm, and the one who reports injustice is not the source of it.
This principle forms the basis of every moral code, every legal system, and every framework of human rights. Yet in this city, within this system, that truth has been twisted until it no longer resembles itself.
Instead of recognizing the difference between the one who suffers and the one who inflicts suffering, the system has inverted the roles entirely.
I did not create the issues that now surround me; I merely exposed them. And for that act of honesty, I became the issue. The moment I revealed the truth, the system decided that I was easier to target than the wrongdoing itself.
2. The Reversal: When Authorities Ignore the Complaint and Turn Suspicion Toward the Complainant
When authorities choose to ignore a complaint and instead redirect suspicion toward the person who filed it, they reveal far more about their own weaknesses than about the situation at hand.
A functioning and ethical system investigates the issue, protects the complainant, and examines the conduct of those accused. But when a system turns its attention against the very person who sought its protection, it exposes its fear of accountability.
This reversal - transforming the victim into the suspect - is not an innocent misunderstanding; it is a deliberate defensive strategy. It allows institutions to avoid confronting their own failures by shifting the burden onto the individual who trusted them enough to speak up.
In such moments, the complainant becomes a symbol not of wrongdoing, but of the system’s inability to face the truth. And the more legitimate the complaint is, the more aggressively the system attempts to silence the one who raised it.
3. I Did What Every Responsible Citizen Is Supposed to Do
I did not hide, nor did I remain silent or pretend that nothing was happening. I went to the authorities, asked for protection, followed the law, and placed my trust in the system. This is what a responsible citizen is expected to do.
It is what a person with dignity does, and what any human being does when he believes in justice and the rule of law.
A guilty person does not walk into an office and say, “Help me. Something is wrong.”
A guilty person hides, avoids scrutiny, and stays silent. I did the opposite. I stepped forward openly, believing that transparency would be met with fairness.
Instead, my openness was treated as suspicion, and my trust was met with hostility.
4. The System’s Fear of the Truth
The truth is straightforward: my complaint was never the problem; it merely revealed the problem. And that is precisely what the authorities could not tolerate. Because if my complaint is valid, then someone failed, someone abused power, someone retaliated, and someone must be held accountable.
Rather than correct themselves, they attempted to correct me. Instead of investigating the issue, they investigated the one who reported it. Instead of protecting the victim, they protected the ones who harm him and the system.
This is how weak institutions behave by attacking the messenger rather than confronting the message. It is how insecure authorities react when faced with their own shortcomings.
And it is how injustice manages to survive, not through strength, but through the fear and fragility of those who are supposed to uphold justice.
5. The Price of Truth... Again
I have paid the price of truth for more than fifty years. I fled from one land to another because of the truths I wrote, and I survived systems that punished honesty while rewarding silence.
And now, in the place where I was supposed to be safe, I find myself living the same pattern once again. The same reversal, the same suspicion, the same retaliation for speaking.
The United Nations once saved me from these very conditions, only for me to face them again in the environment where I believed I had finally found refuge. It is a painful repetition of history, a reminder that truth often demands a price from those who dare to speak it.
6. Closing: I Did Not Create the Issues. I Revealed Them.
This entire episode is not about blame; it is about logic, truth, and the moral order that should govern human society. The one who asks for protection is not the threat. The one who reports injustice is not the criminal. The one who suffers is not the one who created the suffering.
I did not create the issues that now surround me; they did. And the moment I named those issues, they turned their suspicion toward me. But the truth remains unchanged: I am not the problem. I am the witness. And no amount of reversal, suspicion, or retaliation can alter that fundamental reality.
